Clarence House Thetford is housed in the historic Grade II listed old theatre. The nursery provides a homely and safe environment for children from 3 months to 5 years.
It is situated close to the town centre with a convenient parking adjacent to the nursery. The nursery has a large secure outside play area and light and spacious rooms to accommodate babies, toddlers and preschool.
The child is at the heart of everything we do, and our child centred approach to learning gives children the chance to play and explore and learn at their own pace, developing new skills and making learning fun.
Our staff at Clarence House Nursery Thetford are experienced and dedicated to the nursery. The team are well qualified and dedicated to the children and prioritise all their needs, health, care and wellbeing.

Homely and Friendly Environment
The team at Clarence House Thetford are very proud of our nursery delivering a warm, friendly and homely learning environment for babies, toddlers and preschool children.
This warm and friendly environment is set in a beautiful house and has a warm and home from home feel. The nursery strives to ensure your children will feel safe and valued and you will feel confident with the care they provide.
Outside space
We have a large secure outside space where children can explore all weather activities. It incorporates a large patio suitable for play, a vegetable patch, an artificial turf area, soft bounce area and a natural grassed lawn. There is also a nature corner which is ideal for exploration, making dens, bug hunting, mud pies and sensory exploration.
Local Schools
The preschool children go on to attend Norwich Road Primary, Redcastle Primary, Queens Way Primary, Drake Primary and Raleigh Primary.
Manager: Jodie Smith
Jodie became the Manager of Thetford Nursery in September 2024, having worked in the Thetford setting since 2006.
She has been working in Early Years for over 20 years and has a Level 5 qualification in Early Years. Providing a welcoming, home from home environment is something that is important to Jodie and gives her a reward as a nursery manager. Her experience has enabled her to be a kind and caring manager for staff, children and their families. Jodie have strong links to the surrounding community, enabling the children in the nursery to grow, develop and explore with a curiosity approach.
In her spare time she enjoys being with family, walking my beloved dog, cleaning, reading and swimming.
